    Forum suggestion

I like this forum, have done since i first signed up.I trust and respect the opinions and advice of all the people i've been in contact with, I always recommend this site to anyone who needs help or advice on whatever they may need. But i am puzzled as to why they're isn't a forum for the lovers of PHOTOGRAPHY my granddaughter is off to uni in a year or so and i want to buy her a high quality camera, but even though i do my own research it would be nice to come to DIGITAL KAOS and get some independant help and advice. Its a thought you peeps might want to consider and maybe offer support for.

Hi clem. Your suggestion is a valid one and makes me wonder as to why gmb has not suggested it before as I've seen some of his photography on here before. I am a late comer to photography preferring the lazy route of the digital camera that does everything for you bar scratch your back.
I prefer the full screen (wallpaper size) photos when I shoot and this might be a hindrance when uploading due to the size of the pics.
    However, count me in.

i think it was suggested before, but turned down, probably because wouldnt be enough interest, but im for it,and if theres enough interest i cant see it being a problem, any one whos interest in a photography forum stick ya name down in this thread, and lets see what admin thinks @ pat the forum software will re-size any pics that are to large.

        Yeah its been suggested here

I think a whole section from the actual photos to discussing camera also as i could be in the market for a new 1 soon, but this could also include Camcorders also

if i buy a canon 7d from an american retailer will i have to purchase the power pack from the US as well? I can get it for a couple of hundred less but i worry about being able buy accessories for the camera, would they be compatible with a camera purchased for the american market, thats the kind of thing i'm interested in finding out about before i spend the cash. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR REPLIES.

I would say the power pack is standard and available all over. You can look at the link and google the power pack.Canon unveils EOS 7D high-end digital SLR: Digital Photography Review

The power pack should come with the camera.

We'll keep an eye on this thread to see what the support is like. I'm kinda into photography myself, don't really know how to use the camera that I had but I get by.

hmmmm even with the point and shoot cameras theres more ya can do with them, like when, when not to use the flash, adjusting the light sensativity, taking pics in black and white/sepia etc etc etc, a decent quality compact camera as quite a lot of features that you can use, one feature of many my sony camera has is whats called multi-burst, which is it will take rapid pics one after the other while you have the button pressed, bit like a slr camera was dear tho ?230. ( quite dear for a compact camera )

I like a little point & shoot myself from time to time. Just not sure how many others here would make use of a dedicated area.

Would it be possible to link albums from our profiles to a viewing area?

Not really into photography as such ... used to be into videotography in a big way ...

however am into photoshop and a few other bits of img software and really enjoy the challenge presented

so if it takes off will be more than happy to help out on that side of things

I would like a sticky on how to make a post or posting for the first time?
Not just posting in general but adding pics etc.
Even i stuggle to add a large picture and not certain how to do this well
Ive come across a few guys lately struggling to post and popping up in the shoutbox for all the wrong reasons.
Sorry Clem just realised i posted in the Photography section can this be moved thanks for general site suggestion.

                            Andy.
