Internet relay chat.

Basically some Internet servers running software that allows oyu to open a chat room either as a new room or to join an existing room.

If you go here
freenode Web IRC (qwebirc)
and enter a nickname for yourself and put
#digital-kaos
as the channel it will go and join that channel if it exists or it will create it if it doesn't exist. You can then chat to other people that are in there.
