Something odd with DK? FAO DF

I'm not sure whether it's just me this affects, but here goes.

If I do a traceroute from my network to Digital Kaos - Cable & Satellite Forum something at the other end (the firewall in front of the server) stops me accessing Digital Kaos - Cable & Satellite Forum for 60 minutes, every time. I've tried this 4 times over the last days, one around 40 minutes ago. I changed my IP hence, back early or I'd still be waiting for access.

This has happened 4 times, which to me is no coincidence, and points to something that the service provider for DK is doing, maybe part of their adaptive firewall routines to stop DDOS? Being so well timed, to 60 minutes, it does point to something that is being done 'automatically', maybe your SP has a faulty rule on DDOS detection? It might be why different people are experiencing lag and others not?. I've checked the SP's website and they do run adaptive firewalling etc. They certainly have rules in for ICMP rate adaption, and a trace is ICMP traffic. I have the details if you need them.

I'm unsure what logging and support you get from your SP, but if you want me to do a controlled test drop me a PM and I'll be more than happy to do a trace and get blocked so that you can contact your support at their end to try track down what's going on with my IP. I have a number of fixed IP's, so if you need my traces, my IP's etc I'll be more than happy to pass them to you.

      Hi,

I don't know whether this could also be the root of my problem as it sounds similar.
