Thats usually for mods and admin only saves temptation to keep updating your threads titles.

You can edit the title of your thread, if you do so within the first couple of mins after posting, after that it is locked and you need to ask a mod or admin to change it for you.

You can edit it bye double clicking on the thread title after posting.

I would be surprised if you could edit your title indefinitely on any forum. But as Dreamer says, think you've got a few minutes before the thread title is locked.
