Help needed new to this!!

Right I'm in Birmingham we have a kryptaview a790 searched all the channels but only found the local ones such as 1 to 5 it's found the channels but they are highlighted in blue and not black the black ones work.

We have tried to do a sw update but it searches for ages then nothing so we abort the search.

Any ideas would be helpfull***128512;

We are running through a splitter
