Hello everyone, names Steve. I professionally work on and restore mercedes benz cars. In this case I am restoring a 2008 C63 and boy let me tell you that the previous owner of the car destroyed the electronics and ebay specialed everything you can get.

Currently I have recovered the bricked ECU. And now I am trying to find an SCN calculator for this transimission as the previous owner thought changing the coding was the solution to fixing everything.

I for the life of me cannot understand why these data tables are being held like hostages from being freely shared. Mercedes is very unreasonable when it comes to people trying to fix up older cars. Just sad

I completely agree on the sort of hostage situation of information when it comes to the repair of your car. The backward hoops you have to jump through really made me initially question it. At the end of the day, having a handheld Toughbook laptop set up with the means and capability to diagnose, give part numbers and the correct method of assembling/disassembling anything in my w204 is absolutely empowering and I can only hope that you or anyone else working on a similar vehicle are just as privileged to the gain of that knowledge
