Looking to use this forum to help fix my wife's 2012 VW Polo (6R).
It has an Air Condition fault where the air compressor control valve isn't opening.
Fault code is 00898 using an Autel scanner.
Control valve opens if 12V directly applied and the the air conditioning runs nice and cold.
Only 9V is getting to the control valve from the connector to the valve so I'm hoping I can trace back where the voltage is dropping.
Previous garage has cut the control valve wiring and ground the valve black cable to the compressor body.
Does the AC button simply apply 12V to control valve? It seems the feed wire always has a voltage on it.
Next step for me is to check the wiring back to the climate control unit, check for breaks and see if non live cable (that connects to the black control valve wire) is meant to be a switched earth from that module.
