Default protek 9760HD short channel list.

If you have just bought yourself a protek 9760HD and feel swamped by the 9500+ channels it comes loaded with try this short version.
this is for those who only intend to use the "bouquet"system and 28.2E freesat.
only 7.0E,9.0E,13.0E,16.0E,19.2E,23.5E and 28.2E satellites have been left the rest deleted.
the favorites are organised as follows.
FAV1 a selection of freesat channels(your regional variations
will need adding from the main sat list)
FAV2 a selection of sport and documentary channels
FAV3 a selection of film channels from 13E,16E,19E,&23.5E.
    FAV4 empty
back up your existing channels 1st and you may have to re do your lat/long

    Hi there Dick,

I will hopefully get my protek tomorrow, very excited...

Is there a good forum for learning tips and tricks specifically on the 9760 that you know of? This digital kaos is very broad.

Ive been looking on the web but have not found much...

    Thanks,
    mark.

NanoXX Support Forum • Portal the nanoXX forum is the dedicated site but MDT on this site is an expert on these boxes and will no doubt be able to help you.
I"v had mine a couple of months now and can just about find my way around it so I"m pretty sure between us we can sort you out. there is another site with a protek forum but unless you bought from them its closed to you.
If your box comes as from the factory,If wanted I"ll sort out a patch and channel list.

    Thanks Dick,
I will also try that short list you created. I assume that is also unzipped and put on a usb stick and flashed the same way as software updates would?
    Cheers,

    Thanks Dick,
I have been fiddling with Polar Edit and your list... it seems that you can't drag and drop channels you search for to the Favorite channel group, so it seems you have to enter all the info in, one channel by one...

Drag and drop would be cool also for reorganising and also merging parts of different lists, so by having two Polar Edit windows open, people could add parts of other lists to their lists...

But its a lot nicer than the channel editor we had with the Nanoxx.

    Cheers!
    Mark.

if you right click on a channel in the editor a window opens that allows you to assign favorites or change them from one group to another.

Hi there Dick, yes, I see that you can even multiple select a group of channels and assign to a different favorite... but there seems to be no way to add a channel other than by entering all the technical details oneself. If you search for, say, "sports" and you find 230 channels, you cannot select one or all of these and add to the favorites. So basically one can only re-shuffle channels that are already in favorites, but not really add channels other than by finding then typing in all the parameters one by one.

Thanks for the help, I'm still waiting for the TNT truck to deliver...

    Cheers,
    Mark.

    Dick,
When I get my box, should I
1/ first install the latest firmware I can find on nanoxx, ie 9750HD-v3.0.1.0002.gnx
2/ then install the patch you attached 9760HD-V1.16.gnx
    3/ then set the usals

Or does the patch you attached replace the 9750HD-v3.0.1.0002.gnx firmware?

    Thanks,
    Mark.

Dont use the 9750HD firmware its for the olderbox.(it is a 9760HD your getting?)
as far as I know the V1.16gnx file I posted is the latest for the 9760HD. connect all cables, load V1.16.patch load channel list.set your usals parameters.press ok followed by blue button this should show the "bouquets available.
depending on where you bought the box it may come fully loaded and be up and running without haveing to load anything to start with other than putting your lat/long etc;in these boxes dont always auto update the firmware though but system info will tell you what version is in the box.
and after patched on pressing menu in the bottom righthand corner the software bouquet version will show at the moment this should be 107x

I"v just checked on the Boris site and the patch Iposted is the latest. http://9700.com.ua/
