I need urgent buy FGtech and i have this offer:
FGTech Galletto V2 Master
Black box
Firmware: 50
Software ver: 05/2012
(Price 220,- EUR)
The seller say, that all functions working (OBD, Bootmode Tricore, BDM ...)
Is this clone good for work on the bench?

I was little affraid when i opened my package and saw new 3LED FGTech2 in the box....

But as they have build it,it should do some stuff...

My results out of the BOX without touching any resistor or other stuff inside..

So never say there is no one working tool...

But as they have build it,it should do some stuff...

this not all true,i mean that change 2 resistors to 2.7kom,not one people have changed this resistors and without success.

I was found on many of your photos no matter black or green pcb with one led strange thing ,or "mistake" can anyone want to explain please. Here is photo of user kanzus , i`m also found same green pcb on forum. Two IC`s with red circle have mark A82c251 Can transceiver for 24v sistems ???, on all other boards is MC34063 stepup, step down regulator ????
IC in Yellow circle have mark AT88sc , eeprom for Can transceiver ?????, on some boards i was found vp130 etc but never eeprom here .

This is, my friend, a genuine chinese copy protection. Instead of sand the chips they remark with oder codes than is in reality, I mean that the 82c251 are in fact mc24063a and other chips have same issue.

Agree ! Just said that mine is 084-103 and had to be fixed, but many others here had same device and said it worked 100% even with no fix.

I attach pdf's 2 chips,carefully analyze datasheets,with different parameters.Logically it seems there is no difference(F40106), the numbers are almost the same, but.....
Maybe same device are solved and chinese sold with fixed errors.

i solved my problem with this software, my problem is the clock, i have to change the clock and forget to change to normal, so the iterface has blocked, but now is working again.

So you only can programm over C167 Table..

But everyone has other pin Layout, Optican, Byteshooter (remove resistor, place otherwhere) ... which layout is the right one for fgtech?

This is not begging ...but .People some of as are Beginners ,some of as do not have enough money to buy original tools or good clones (i`m bet nobody will never risk to buy worst china crap and desperately try to make it work) .Some of as live in very small city ,like me with small number of customers .My family live only from my Job, and believe me every job i have heart attack because i do`not have money for mistake and work with china "upgraded" tools.Haw is difficult to buy china or any other devices from here without paypal visa etc.is another story. Even in that condition l NEVER try to make lower prices to survive ,and kill someone Job.
And i`m looking in all of you with big knowledge and practice like gods .So please do not judge us for many questions and searching for help. I think a lot of people are finding in my story.

Also i`m think to put out problematic mc3406a and put some linear regulator with heat sink .I`m little bit suspect that some Euro clone also put out mc3406 ic also .

For si9241 ,do not affect for k line so do not change it *it is for j1850 protocol , like some people do.

For K-Line fix I changed:

R59 to 1K
R38 to 4R7
R27 to 4K7
IC 74HC14 near JP3.
(Texas Instuments TI 74HC14 version or any other type like 74HC74, 74HC86... will not work !!! It work fine even with 74HC04 from Philips or NXP).

You are right I thing. The values is not correct. The 2nd question is why galletto use 4 positions. The best option is classic 3 positional mechanical switch with 250R, 500R, 1K resistors like byteshooter use, I think.

3th at all if you want already served solution by EU clone or better original tool.

Yes very good looking and 34063 DC-DC converters is used to prevent overheat on 24V sources and stabilize supply of tool.

Well i think someone or anyone has to confirm the above methods that were used to fix either bdm or k-line function.

I replaced the 4700 ohm and 2700 ohm resistors with a 2.7k (272) 0.5-08 smd but i still did not had the chance to test it appropriately.

i have the 3led (048) version. Once i test it i will confirm,I could only get the sw and hw id of an me7 ecu which had an obd protection but i guess that this was already working since i have tested that before.

Today I tried to flash an edc17cp04 of an Audi 3.0tdi over obd with the galetto. All seemed fine (100% writing and no errors), but after I have switched the ignition off and on again, the feared sound of running cooling fins started!
I suspect it mixed up the checksum.
The device is a silver box with 1 led. I removed the ecu to try it with bdm, but this does not work, so I have replaced 3x 74HC86D with 74HC14, but no luck. Then tried with boot mode: T1796, but it asks me to give and remove feed (switch) two times, but after the second time I used the switch it failed. Can anyone give me suggestions to get the bdm or boot mode to work?

Fixed the boot problem! I have mixed up the orange and yellow wire because the colors in the manual or not really clear. It is reading now.

1. 3x 74HC14. It must not be from TI (Texas Instruments). ICs from Philips, NXP or ONsemi are tested.

2. 6x resistors near BDM connector - tested is 10R - 100R range. Higher resistors values, will not work.

I am still strugling with a corrupted flash (mixed up checksum) after flashing the ecu (8K0907401) with the new Galetto. I have tried to correct the checksum of the flash in bootmode, because I am not sure if winols makes the right checksum, but still no luck.

Today I tested TRICORE EDC17 and MED17 ECUs on the table. K-line is used only for fast reseting ECU during read or write cycle. SW set always the same pull-up resistor for this - resistor with smallest value. Communication with ECU is done via CAN bus.

But you are right of course, resistance selection is important - every type of ECU need different. For VAG K-line ECUs is always the same selected (500R), for Alfa another, for Ford another...
