What I grasp is that after over 80 pages of what it will and won't do and how to repair a new out of the box one, before you find out what it won't do, personally makes me happy I do not have one and certainly does not encourage me to even think of buying one. well no leather pouch and not all activated nut lucky for what was need ed on the day .. so made me money back in few seconds on it mate .. Poor guy that had to pay for it . he wanted to take car away to other guy that asking halve my price .so i had to play fast and do the job in halve a second .

Laguna 2004 threw dash connector - ok (im not sure, prapobly hc08 dash)
Focus 2004 OBD - game over - had to reconnect battery/dash to reset cpu.

Suggest you include a couple of bricks in the case, you can use your CP
whilst "at work" - one on top of pedal, one underneath, damm deadman handles.

Try to replace 4 x 74HC125M (you have 74HC125D on your clone) from farnell or other supplier.

Tell me what you repaired, did you swapped cable 2 and 3 because thats is the only difference i could see.

Connect +12V and gnd to the proper pins in obd2 plug. Measure white connector with multimeter and find +12V on it. Carprog will fail A1 test when +12V are not present on white connector.

I received yesterday carprog, test hardwer A9-ok A1-ok, D1-fault.
24Cxx eeprom programmer - tested and works :) even without external power supply. , 93Cxx problem reading.
Carprog undressed and noticed the lack of analysis of the plate 1 diode. I put and 93Cxx reads and writes 100/100% with no external power supply.
Continues to D1 fault test.
Could someone put photos in high resolution this adapter?
It can also missing elements that are integrated into the adapter with me because they are worn paint markings.

All will work 100%
Maybe is SW bug for that test but I was make lot unit CP clone china test and all work anyway if D1 + A9 no pass ...
Do not louse time with that test

in the afternoon put an image that I put diode (missed it on PCB).
After soldering diods carprog began to read and write 93C46.
Thanks for the photo adapter, it remains for me nothing more than a test of the system.

My CP would not read 24CXX... After replacing all 74HC125 problem was fixed only half way... It would only read them when powered from 12volts adapter. I removed one diode on main pcb and bypassed with a wire to be able to read 24cXX DIP without 12volts adapter. Some CP clones can read without 12volts adapter, mine would't. This is the only way I could make it work. USB is providing about 5.12 volts on my laptop but this diode placed on pcb was lowering this voltage to about 4.24 (not enough to read them). Now it reads/writes without power adapter :bounce:

Did you changed all 4 74HC125 and checked GND and also +12V , +5V and +3,3V point's ?
Also resolder ARM and all PCB ..

Most problems are from very bad PCB made in china ...

If nothing help you have problem on burned some of 2R2 od 0R0 resistor's ...

If that is no case then your Analog to Digital converter pin on ARM are burned ...

Then only solution are change ARM with new ...

I have Carprog original and I also have this problem when booting Motorola MCU and I need to use 12v adapter in Carprog to make the job!
Maybe is a Original Concept problem

After your fix my second cp reads eproms without other modifications. ELCHIP - can you look at picture and tell us if missed caps on some cp clone are urgent or not ? I`ve got 2 cp without these caps and having trouble with renault immo tools (megane II) - can`t connect by CAN. A1 cable should be ok `coz I can connect to eg. focus dasboard by CAN. Can you help ?

:),mi solution tested too,depaind of cp,mi friend cp,dosent worck,i plug on pc,and nothing,i reflow all pbc and after cp start working,its not aloways necesary to change pices,like all knows,china make bag qualyty solder,thats first problem on all tools,second its pices,Like Elachip say,there its a loat of reasons wi tools not worck ok,but first of all its conection betwen pices on pbc.I agree with u coz u change 74hc125d,and after worck,but not all cp need thath,depaind of pbc:) and conection inside!:captain:

I was checking voltages over pcb today, you shouldnt replace this diode with a 0resistor/wire. Your problem was - diode was standard one instead low U drop one.
After replacement with wire your usb port supply is not separated from pcb board, in case of pcb component failure, CP power supply is going straight to the usb port.
Some other member advised to short GND points too (genuine design is not perfect but pourpose of it was to separate/protect USB port).
Anyway beter way is to short GND's and leave +5V separated with low voltage drop diode (eg Schottky).

Other tool took 2 minutes. Your Gulf must have bin 2000 2001 or early 2002. Tool needs to find code first (can take up to 50 minutes if code is on the end of the dump). If RB8 dash you could also choose RB8 fast in TU menu. Then it takes 2 minutes, I had one last Monday.

yes they have. I have not found a supplier. I am led to beleive they are diodes. If you find a supplyer please let me know.
I bought simular value ones but it didn't help, that does not mean that they won't work just that may not be the problem.

Note the line on them for rotation as on some the line is before X2 and on some after X2 so with the writing the correct way up is not always correct, its the line that matters.

I think they are Zener about 50+ volts? Got a mixed selection from Farnel

To me it sometimes happens, replace the micro USB jack and cable's probably bad.

I've just finished reading all 94 pages to decide if the CP clone is worth buying. At this point it seems that it does it's job and it's gold for the money. I ordered and I'm eagerly waiting for it. Just hope that my unit isn't made by a new 3rd factory that uses even less/worse components in order to drop price :D

there is an issue with IE anf zip files on DK. Just use another browser like firefox to down zipfiles and they will open normally.

Got my CP clone today.
Results:
Skoda Fabia VW5 airbag with HC08 - diag is a NO GO, but still, I managed to clear it on the bench.

My CP also has GND issue, even with external PS it didn't want to connect with ECU. After measuring +12V voltage on the A1 adapter I discovered that it had only 10.9V. After resolving the grounding issue it connected OK to the ECU.

Will have these days a try with the 93c and 24c and post results.

Despite the grounding issue the overal build quality is OK, including adapters.

Maybe you have a break in the wire, just tested my aerial cable with a multi meter and it showed 5.0 ohms

if no break then maybe trying post #1412 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f174/carprog-full-247647/index95.html#post1674309) could be an option.

if you want to fit another dash you need to clone 912 dump from orig . else car wont start because of immo stored in this mcu

I know that, what I didn't understooth is if I change the whole dash, why I need to replace and reflashing the 908? Or this step is only to try to repair it?
At last, I assume that carprog can read the 912 from the original dash :)

If you replace dash just clone or swop 912 micro if you are repairing dash get new 908 and transfer data from old one thats it

It's about my own car, 2003 Renault Laguna MKII, for which I finally made time to programm a new card. So, I took an ID46 precoded PCF7946AT, replaced it on a used card and programmed it with CP clone. Now the issue is that although card starts the engine, RF is OK, my car's central locking doesn't react.

Facts:
1. Tested card and emits OK
2. Immo works and car starts fine
3. Clip tester in the UCH Params does not pickup any RF( it has 2 fileds, one is RF detection, the other is message decoding ).

I even switched transponders between my old card ( with central locking working fine ) with the one I programmed and it's the same. Old card with new TP is Immo- OK, central locking not OK, new card with old TP, everything working fine.

I figured there must be something related to the PCF.
I programmed another one but still the same issues.
Maybe worth mentioning that PCFs are from China, factory precoded with Renault ID46.
Has anyone any clues?

I was told by a key blank supplier that the pcf7946 works ok in the keycard but my experience was exactly like yours. Just use the pcf7947

albertros, I found that both 7946 and 7947 act the same if they are not properly precoded, in fact they end up acting like 7936, eg. immo only. Many thanks for your reply!

If you have a genuine Renault card reader you can write and read information into the PCF7947 Like
Name, address, car reg. It also stores some vehicle info when last used like oil pressure, engine temp etc.
I was told the pcf7946 was not able to store this info but otherwise the same.

I was sure I precoded the 7946 with the correct data but probably didn't.

I can not find with my kit where the ectra info is stored on the pcf7947.
