DM800 Need help please - Newbie

Hi All,
I have a Dreambox DM800 and have most of the FTA channels, trying to broader my horizons and get the encryption side up and running.
I have Enigma2 installed along with Gemini2. Dont know if this is the write way forward. But with that said any one got any ideas what cams would need to be installed, and an idiots guide of what i need to do.

First of all you need an emu. The easiest way is to have your dreambox connect to your router and download them via the blue panel. Any evocamd emu is best.

Not sure exactly where the files go on a dm800 so you might need to search around.

In the files you downloaded, there will be a keys folder and an scce folder. Have a look on your box, there might be a /usr/keys and /usr/scce folder. Put the contents of the keys folder in /usr/keys and the contents of the scce folder in /usr/scce. Go to a premium channel then reboot the box using the 'reboot now' option in the shutdown menu.

Hopefully when the box reboots it will auto update the keys and clear the channel.

If you don't have the box connected to your router, let us know. But it's far easier if it is.

It all depends what youn want to do with your new dreambox.

It can do almost everything starting from sharing and ending ...

Thanks for the info, had a bit of a day due to my home pc crashing big time.
I have now put the contents of the keys folder into /usr/keys and the contents of the scce folder into /usr/scce. I have chmoded the files to 644,
I have then selected a premium channel and selected "menu - stanby/restart
then selected the option restart".

Unfortunitely i still do not have any encrytped channels, the keylist.txt is still at file size = 1

Do i need to do anything with Blue Panel?

Still rather lost as what to do next.

How do i download an EMU using Blue Panel?

Hi Devilfish and anyone else,

I have just realised that in you post you said about getting an EMU, that part
i missed off must have had a senior moment.

Any one got any ideas what menu options i take to download an EMU cant seem to find the menu option for this?

I have now got Evocamd V2 17c on my PC. I have a router conected to my PC and to my Dreambox. Any ideas on how i install the Evocamd ?

I have selected Blue Panel but cannot find any options to install, and cannot find it in plugins either.

I suppose once this is installed i may have to reload the data from the keys folder and scce folder back to the dreambox? ref your first response to this thread.

if the box is connected to the router it should be internet ready
press the blue button goto addons you should get it via internet
if having problems
ftp to the temp folder put the attached file in there, goto blue button then do a manual install then reboot then restart the emu
is it gemini image ..?
then thats ok
donot unzip put the whole thing in there

I have a DM800 myself and on all the images i have used ever since the key changes at the end of november and the release of the new scripts i have not been able to use Evocam on the DM800 as it will not AU

The only cam that will AU for me on any image is MGcamd so if you cant clear anything with evocam then maybe try using mgcamd 1.31 or 1.30d

manual install, there are two options Addons (tar.bz2 / tar.gz), and ipkg Packages (ipk).

I cannot see e2-evocamd_21.7*

When i select addons and take the option Downloads (Gemini-Server)
I have cam entrys and cam-configs in the list but nothing to do with e2-evocamd.

Any ideas what may need to be done next?

In all honesty i would forget trying to use evocam on your dm800 you will not clear the channels with it you NEED to use mgcamd which is downloaded via the gemini server

Evocam works fine on Enigma 1 but since the November update it does not work properly on the Enigma 2's which the Dm800 is.

press ok on cams does it give you a list of emus or cams as they are called
there should be a list of all different sorts chose mgcamd it will install it for you then go back and pick evocamd and try them see which one works the best

jbennett.. You f n beauty.. my dm800 has been busting my balls since i got it 4 weeks ago, couldnt understand why my channels wouldnt clear even though i seem to be doing everything right, thanks to your little gold nugget of information im sorted .. happy xmas m8
