Does it mean that I just get any HD DreamBox to flash and it should work.
Would you be able to recommend me where to buy a set to flash.
And roughly how much is the difference in price for plug and play and DIY flash set?

Theres a guide in this forum under STICKIES,how to flash and make your set works.But magic files you need to look elsewhere.But if you are total noob dont understand at all what the stickies or forum talking about than is ok just get yourself DM800HD or DM500C with working image for SG which is plug and play.Theres many player and supplier in SG.Plus point any problem or hardware faulty you can easily consult or swap from them immediately. Hope this help..

That's the plus point in getting from local supplier although price range from 30-50 bucks higher. If online transaction, same warranty period but if faulty, need to bear own shipping cost for rma.

Dont worry about heat m8. You can leave it on stanby mode 24/7 no issue,but if you are
the kind who watch more than 10 hours per day none stop than i ADVISE you place a laptop cooler under the machine. If without laptop cooler the machine get too hot after long day watch ,the machine might shutdown by itself,and you only can watch again between half to 1 hour after machine cool down.

Whao... but other than heat ... in terms of the channels and quality is it ok? ... i am trying to get it to recieve HD channels from S*****b ...rather than getting another STB in my room...
I heard its Cardless now ...means no expiry right?

Quality will be the different. The China set is working too. Most of the bro here is using China made. I think the only worry problem is the heat. That why some ppl just replace the fan for the heat sink or add another one to it. For me, i leave the top cover open so better ventilation.

Since its known that heat is an issue, try not connect an internal hdd for recording features unless provision made to cool down the ambient heat. Alternatively, get an esata external hdd enclosure (+ 5v dc supply via one of the USB Port - Optional if hdd run on less than 5400Rpm)

DM800HD run on 12V at 3Amp optimal. There are cases where DM800HD being bundled with 2Amp adapter.
