ive always used dw2.0 i have tried dk1.1 and the one suggested from the dream website

ok, done a flash erase. i didnt flash another image i just diconnected and powered up. i get a blank screen, so no ss1 picture that keeps coming up, im now flashing my dw2 image

flashed ok, but the frozen screen from ss1 is back!!!!! aaaarrrggghhh
only difference know is that i can turn the box on standby(even though the frozen screen is still there) poo

Don't JTAG it, that's not needed.

Use Dreamup and a null modem cable.
Turn box OFF.
Run Dreamup and click connect.
Turn box ON.
Click 'Flash Erase' and let it do it's thing.
When it's finished, click 'Flash Erase' again, yes do it twice.

Then flash any image you want and see if it works.

OR...

There is an erase image here, flash that with dreamup and then flash whatever image you want with dreamup.

When your box is ~~~~ed, always best to use dreamup then you know all the memory partitions are set correctly.

flash eras, left it for a while, then flashed it with dk.

however, i have put the new roms/k*ys in but no joy. i have a back up of my files but dont know what to do

did you put them in the right place var/keys or is it var/scce use dreambox edit to place your files in the right place

All key files go in /var/keys except the nagra*.bin files which go in /var/scce.

My dreambox was freezing as well,as i left it outside last night in the freezing temperatures,i took inside,plugged it in,it's OK now.
