How to JTAG a DM500

Is gemini 4.7.0 ok to flash in a DM500 clone?

I have problem with jtag. After flash dm500s still can ligth the green button, It flashed green for the last 2 % of flashing, and when I plug it again in power switch, dm500s is dead no light. Tuner is alps model BSBE1-702B. I'm using dos program 2aps.inf.

In the 500c box i try to flash, have NuTune tuner and no result. I have fix manny boxes with the same jtag cable and same computer and apps but thats boxes have alpa and a philips tuner, is it someone who has succesed whit this NuTune tuner ?

I have jtagd dm500s and green light is gone but still cant connect it with dreamup.Could it be bootloader file I used.Please help I have been reading lots of posts but still dont know what the problem is.Thanks

Dos JTag

My DM500s can't light green lamp.So I make JTAG and connect succesed.
But 2alps.bat stop process at "Erase Flash done"
wait long time. isn't display "download....0%"

My PC is Interl Celeron(R) 1.7GHz 256Mbyte RAM. NOT eough?
CPU availability 99% Not use applicaton soft.

Cause JTAG communication? (JTAG cable 9cm)
PC spec?
PC setting? (Bios paralle port OK. not use printer and haven't installed driver.)
dream box? (updated gemini 4.40 flash image)


i could complite download 100% (about 24 hours)
but green lamp is dark.
cannt coummicate by rs232 LAN.

I used jtag_windows v0.1. but "ERROR:resister test failed"......
Timming is difficalt. Turn on(switch) : connect click?

I am having the exact same problem... i have left mine for 3 hours now and its not even displayed 0% still stuck on erase flash done. Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

my d500 was working fine but i couldn't connect the box with serial cable, so i have flashed the box with ftp and it was working fine .

I ahve flashed the box again with diffrent img with ftp and now the box come on and after displaying bootup picturte tv screen goes black nothing work.

normaly my other box comes back alive with serial cable flash but this one doesnt connect with cable so i can't flash another img.

box comes on but after few second nothing comes on.

So do i need to use Jtag ?

I have probelm with 500c to make Jtag for that,
1. Can someone write a ling to download the files that I need after connect the PC to dreambox as described here.
2. If to make jtag for 500c and 500s are the same?

FOR DM500S, if your intel flash is JS28F640, use the dos program. Only for DM500S, sat tuner because the bootloader is for sat tuner. For TE28F640 flash chip, you can only use the jtag window program, load the right bootloader for your tuner, ALPS and Philips is different. Change the 000000000 to something like 00:09:34:??:??:??.

For DM500C, CABLE bootloader is diff from SAT. only 1 file for the tuners.

Trying to Jtag my DM500S with jtagdm500.exe but after flash erase nothing is displaying in the screen (no upload etc.) Any ideas???

After JTAG you must upload an image with DreamUp ...
With JTAG you did just upload the bootloader ... I think ...

So ... here is my story :

First of all I JTAG-ed it correctly and flashed up with windows progy ... but nothing happend .. so I flashed it a few more times ...

Then I found the DOS progy ... but did not know is it Alps or Philips I have ...
So I flashed with both a few times .... ( I think I have Alps .. after I read a few hundred site's about it .... )

It's flashed now in DOS/Alps ... but still cant reach it with RS-232 DreamUp ...

Any ideas ?

Even if i use Jtag, I don't think i will beable to upload the image through Dreamup ? bcz my serial cable connection doesn't work on this box...I use to upload image through FTP.

Is there any way to falsh the image through Jtag?

I went to upgrade mine, time to restart, do not start anymore. By connecting the DM500S at source, the Green LED is lit directly. I tried with the serial cable, but does not connect dreamup. Anyone know how can I solve this?

try an older version of dreamup the one on my siggy works on the 500s keep trying and good luck
