    I Finaly did it!!!

    Hi again,
Finally i found the solution after making a better search on forum. It is a must to connect pin 25 of the lpt that is gnd, to the dm500 metal case and pin 16, so the gnd of the flashing computer is the same with the gnd of the dm500 because as i believe now the reason that was stack in download was because of errors on transfer. It may be better to use a shielded cable and connect the shield to the gnd metal case of the lpt plug and on pin 16 on dm500.
Thanks to every one in this forum because without their problems and solution i don't think i would have been able to do it.

        Is now working

I have read all post in this thread and still had problems with JTAG.

But then i tighten the LPT plug to the PC with the screws and then it worked with the dos version.

My dream had a good MAC address But THE GEMINI 4.70 detect it as clone. So, I will try the JTAG. Thanks for the tutorial.

Are you using a Null modem Cable with Dreamup software to put a new image onto the dm500 ????, (Untick use network) this is the only way after Jtagging in a new bootloader.
You cannot use FTP to load image.
If still struggling you could have a hardware problem if no lights on box.
UPDATE : Try this lot (Attached) for DM500 Cable, it worked on mine

hi everyone just tried to jtag my dm500c and went completely wrong melted the contact points off the mainboard. does anyone know where i can order a decent replacement mainboard (closest to original) ive found this one but not sure if its any good http://www.dreambox800.org.uk/Mother...r-DM500C.html#
can someone please let me know if they know anythink thanks

just ordered a replacement board from this site but having trouble with them so be careful when ordering i will update if i receive the board or if its a site to avoid.

UPDATE: received the board now fitted it and all working well so far has been working 3 days so far so i think its safe to say replacement boards can be ordered from here. please note i did receive a different board to what was advertised on the site but still works so still happy. last resort for anyone having trouble with using jtag on their box.
