Trouble flashing with dreamup

When trying to flash my dreambox with dreamup all goes well until I hit the connect button, then it says connection prepared switch on power, and tells me the time and that it a box type DM500, then the only thing highlighted is disconnect. I am using a null cable which I verified by doing a continuity test. Any help would be appreciated.

Ensure dreambox is powered off at wall. Press connect, now power back on. Do you see it uploading the boot helper?

I've got the same problem and have tried everything I could think of. Changed the portsettings, replugging the powersupply, different kind of dreamup version, etc, etc.

Is there anyone who has got a suggestion, what I can try?

I am running out of options here...

hi gents new to this got a dreambox 500c for my mum and i managed to load the program but all the channels was still scr----ed and in no particular order i am not sure what i am doing wrong loaded dk v 1.1 please help its for crimbo. If anybody can help me what programs i need to load and in the right order i would be very greatful.the box is new

try a new cable simple . reboot xp . or check dream;up for the dm 600 works fine lets think.....whole working image re flash ???

I also encounter the same problem. Dreamup does not seem to be able to go beyond recognizing the correct box type. Could it be an issue with the box, as I am flashing the Linux Black box 500C? I have no issue with the DM500C previously.
