virgin smartcard question?

If you can get an open card,and a valid boxkey from your area,job done.
Dont forget traders cloned muliple boxes with the same boxkey in areas.
In theory its possible this way for the db.

Hi m8, it dont matter wat area u live in ur box key can be anything u want it to be as long as the bk on the card matches the bk in the newcamd config file (in the uk the first 2 digits of ur cam id is provider specific afaik) and ur ird no. can be anything also, ive tested this every way i could think of rom10 & 11 cards both working only probs i could find is channel change time takes 1/2 sec longer for card to authorise and i can live with that

Just to let you know myself & I think red devil have cards working in dreambox. Never managed to copy over to funcard would only work for 30-60 seconds then stop restart box again 30-60 seconds????

So what was the problem with the funcard?
Can you give me the step by step on how to get a funcard working with the DM500 please?

I find it strange that it wont work but then it could be down to newcamd as its so old and not had any updates in a long time , i was talking to some one on here before and he did say he was using a fun card but what problems he was having with it i don't know did anyone ever try it with an opus or tit2 card see what the out come of it would be

hi 2tone, a progress report tried the tit2 and opus, the tit cleared for 5 mins then went black the opus never cleared, im up the walls atm so i might give it a lash again at the weekend, will let u know after i try some different versions of newcamd

My friend has a Dm500c with a Virgin Card..

According to him... when the cable company rolls new keys... He doesn't need to do any manual update.

The card will take care of it..

I've attached the pics of the card. (Front and Back.)

Any idea where to buy this card ?

Now that is a funny card dont think i have seen a virgin card like that before with two chips on it i have seen an atmega card like that im sure it was from china but im sure if your looking one of the uk rom11 cards you should be able to get on ebay or the likes of it you will need a programmer to be able to right an image to it also a bk from a working box

will a rom11+blocker image work in a dm500C ? or does it have to be a rom10 ?.
2tone gave me some help ages ago but i never got it up and running.
the advantage of this would be , when the rom10 roll method goes down the rom11 will still be up and running.

if anyone's got any guides on this can they forward them on to me please.

as long as u have a working rom 10 or 11 image, blocker or standard it will work
if your image is good enough u dont need a blocker
download newcamd 6.10 and config file and ftp to box and give a shout back
