dvbmonkey returns problem pls help!!

did you try the power supply then?, 9/10 thats the prob on these when theres no power, theres a fuse insde which blows, but just try another supply see if it works, bet it does.,, just make sure its the same ratings.

problem was not with the power supply, the dreambox did power on (green light) - but once the dreambox was flashed (which kept failing due to CRC checks or something) it did not power on til after waiting 40-50mins. same thing happened everytime i tried flashing it.

Erm, sounds like the chips become courpted. I've had a few like that...how I fixed:

Grab the blank image file, i think its called erase.img for the 500 series.
Use Dreamup and null modem cable and flash the erase image to the Dreambox, you might have to try a few times.

Once this is flashed it sould be good to now flash your DK image..and hopefully all working

i also got one from dvb monkey prob with mine is it powers up for about 1 min then freezes then have to wait about 45 mins to get back on but only for about a min again.cant re flash because you only get about a min.so it gives error resetting lock bits tried loads of different images and dreamups.still the same must be some sort of power prob.but green light to adaptor is on and so is light to box.end of the day i think ive been bumped. by these sniedy ****s.

how long ago did you buy it?? its been all over the net for months on how sh!t dvb are and advising people not to buy from them

about a month ago yep was foolish enough not to check it out first.but lesson learned.

well i've also heard a few bad rumours about DVBmonkey.steer clear and find a good reputable seller.i use a certain guy who owns the factory (most will know his name so i wont name drop) and i very rare have a problem.
on the one occasion i didnt use him i been a tight cnut thinknig i were saving a few bob i ended up with faulty mobo's.

i must be one of the few lucky ones who got good service from monkey i orderd black box on a thursday and recieved it on wed came with image fxp the files and up+running since

Just got mine this morning. Sent to the wrong address in Sweeden. Returned to Ireland. Closed the paypal claim after making sure everything was ok with it. No communication with seller. Thought I was buying from GB but from Hong Kong instead. Clone by the way, but only got it for testing purposes.
