Dream box 500c info not clear

Right my dreambox 500c to get it working. Do I need to remove the enigma program and change to DW2.00? Or do I just ftp some new stuff across to update the enigma folders? I havent got a clue what everyone is saying to update. Every sticky is just confusing the whole thing. I have Dw image and flashf xp but havent tried to put it on box as aint sure if I am supposed to or where it goes. If I do need to where and how do I do it. someone please explain what I should do. Any help greatly appreiciated.

read up about dreamup, and use that to flash your box.Its not just a case of ftp`ing some files across.

i used flash wizard pro no problem, but heard some peeps have had this programme crash after 95% of the flash.

The safest way is dreamup.

Now I have just read somthing complety opposite to what you have just said. Its on this site saying I only have to update certain parts of my existing image and unless I wanted to change the image I already have! As Im new to all this I just followed the instructions to install by ftp some nagrom files (7, 10, 11) and enable AU in Camd and mg cfg files. All confusing stuff but I did follow these instructions to the T and and then rebooted. Guess what? Nothing has changed, when I look at all my channels, I get only a few free ones. I then did a new scan but still can not view bugger all. So what is the score here with these Dream box 500c's because IM ABOUT TO TROW THIS ONE OUT THE WINDOW. I am quite IT literate but mate the is unreal just to get it working again. Any ideas?

Some people have had a few problems with it and Devilfish created a thread to try and sort it, see link below. Are you using Evocamd ???

If still no good then maybe flashing a new image will do it, as aftermath said...best to use dreamup and a null modem cable but flashwizard pro should work if flashing another Enigma image like DW2.0 modded.

There is usually more than one way to do stuff on the dreambox. Someone may think one method is easier than the other and someone may disagree, so it may conflict each other. Just try them out and decide for yourself which methods you prefer.
