Dreambox 500 keeps flashing on startup screen and a black screen

It doesnt make sense in ur way. The pc detected the dreamboxand was able to use dreamup. Just got some error problems. Seems like the dreambox doesnt send any acknowledgement or signal to the pc.

There is not much thing that u can do right now. Try with other version of dreamup and see if it can works. If still cannot, and u think that yr usb adapter is not the problem, u got to find a computer with com port to do the flashing rather than wasting money to buy the usb adapter and later found out it was not the adapter but a hardware faulty on the dreambox. You could also try with yr other boxes to see it get connected and acknowledge as u still need to backup the working image if u r not familar with telnet backup. In any case, u still need the usb adapter and null cable in case same things happen.

Anyway, i'm using a USB adapter from Atake. So now the problem should be USB adapter which doesn't receive the "signals" from the dreambox.

Most likely the usb adapter but not confirm unless u try.

If I nvr remember wrongly the Aten adapter will have a green light when it's transmitting data or somehow connected. Sometimes when I m using the adapter it can proceed till the flashing stage but it will get errors. Sometimes it will just stuck on the waiting for acknowledgments stage.

Yeah. The thing is i not using the aten adapter. I using another brand i bought from challenger. Didn't know there were differences in it.

I bought the serial to usb adapter before somebody posted it. Dun jump to conclusion and dun assume everything. -.-

For your info, that pic and brand which dbtraitor posted recently... it has been discussed 1 year back and its in forum many times. So you also pls don't assume unless you follow the thread in this forum and you have read enough to understand what is happening first.

Come on la. When u are in need of help urgently, I doubt u will also spend so many days trying to read de whole forum and finding a needle in a haystack. On the sticky on how to flash, it states just the equipment needed. Nv state de brand of the items. If u say once I get my solution I will gtfo of here, den u r wrong. I have not heard of this forum before getting the cable box. If many people in here are so nasty in front of the keyboard, I doubt so many people will come back but it doesnt seems so cos this forum has so many members and are very helpful. If u are not trying to help but give me a lecture, den I hope u can leave and dun give shitty comments.

Since when was i ungrateful to anybody who have given the help in assisting me to solve the issue. Cool mods here i guess. I guess being a newbie and unsure of anything gives more senior members to get fk in the ass.
