How to describe the problem to the repair shop just in case they not familiar with EDID?. Please bear with me know nxt to nothing about pc beside connecting plug and play device.
Try changing the cable use from tv point to box first. Use standard 75ohms cable instead of those buy from abc store. Those claim to be gold-plated cable (brand Taiyo or dunno wat) are all junk.

Actually the cable came with the Dreambox. Nevertheless your suggestion is worth trying. Only problem is identifying the correct cable. Should I be looking out for "75 ohms" printed on the cable?. Will make a trip to Sim Lim tis weekend. Thanks for keeping my hope alive.
