DM800 HELP: DM800SE SGSH Tuner error

    Hi guys,

I'm using DM800SE on SGSH and the problem I'm facing is this error message:
    Service Unavailable!
    Check Tuner configuration

I've also tested using DreamElite & OpenPLI firmwares and the error is the same.
I tried playing around with the Menu>Setup>Service Searching>Tuner Configuration with no luck.

What I've noticed is that on my other set which works fine the Tuner is identified as Philips while on the box which isn't working it's more of generic like: BCM4050

    Please help

    Thanks,
    Neo30i

From what you said, looks like your set is a satellite receiver rather than a cable

I just opened the box and noticed some corrosion on the tuner... I think it might be faulty.

You need a cable tuner not the satellite ones.

Nothing wrong with your box, juz wrong tuner. Your tuner is a dvb-s, not dvb-c tat is for sg use.

I guess you have to dismantle your S tuner and send back to exchange for a cable version.
