500c cam help?

This box must be defect..... Send back to china is not the best option. The process of setting up a dm500 that I saw at "you tube" and that I read here seems to me very,very simple however box still not open channels apart from freeview. However I am confused becouse I read somewere that the DM500 settings are not simple for begginers. Still not sure what else could be....

the box is easy to set up once you know how, but can be daunting at first.

first off, if you dont know how to ftp look here

follow these instructions

1) download dk 1.1 from here Digital Kaos - Downloads - Digital Kaos v1.1 Image for Dm500 C/S/T

2) flash dk 1.1 to dreambox either using dreamup or telnet, dreamup is easier for newbies.

3) scan for channels

4) download keys from here RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

5) ftp just the contents of var/keys to the var/keys folder or your dreambox

6)if anything is in var/scce on your dreambox delete them

7) now download the nagra a/u fix from here RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

8) ftp over the contents to var/scce

9) go to sky sports 1

10) Hold INFO for more than 3 secs to bring up EMU manager, press OK.Wait....... then picture should clear

apart from install the DK1.0 image( that came pre-installed from digital monkey.com, i just update to DK1.1 from server) I followed step by stet. Keys and scce I copy and past in the correspondet folder. I tried Evocam 2.12,2.13 and 2.17. Still I can just get freeview. I must be missing something.
I have done this process almost 10 times and nothing...
at this time I factory reset and installed DK1.1 fresh from box that is conected to internet( not FTP) direct from server.

Sky sport 1 came up at my screen( for the first time) after I have leaft the box on for almost 1 hour(of black screen) however I just cud see normal image for 10 seconds and the picture got frozen!
Now does not came up anymore

flash this erase image Digital Kaos - Downloads - Erase Image for DM500 using dreamup, dreamup can be found here Digital Kaos - Downloads - DreamUP 1.3.3.4.

once you have done that follow the steps i posted above m8

The box works it shows FTA,perhaps a signal issue aswell wrt freezing.

Signal strenght seems ok to me....what if i try to reeinstall imaga via network? having some dificulties to make the box talk with my pc via cable null and dream up ...
Dreambox does not come up at dreamup....What that can be? Using the right cable RS232...
Would be easier to use Dreambox Control Centre?

Thank you guys box now working. I learn a lot. My null modem cable wasnt the right one. The image that the seller had was updated and not flashed.

I dont know much I just started in the dreambox world. But I myabe be able to help. The process is not dificult but there are few bits that can make you confused at first.
What dificults do you have with the cam?
