6 weeks trying to flash dreambox ?

like i said , im 6 weeks trying to flash this box , but still with no luck yet , bin men on the way! i have tryed dw 2.0 and gemini 420, all roms fixed. , i have just flashed it with gemini 420 , and what do you know , blank screen, , found transpondes for ntl dublin 6887, thats what im on,tryed bruteforce ire, , and cable scan ,no luck there , if anybody can help me , thanks for your time , ranger ..

What box is it? Presumably it's a DVB-C?

I'm assuming you have successfully flashed the image since you have tried so many? So the problem is that you cannot get any channels to show, am I right?

If that's the case, we can get it sorted.

Flash any image you want...I would say use the DW image for now.
Setup the networking and make sure you can ftp to it.

Do a service scan using the option that fits your area. Can I clarify at this point if you are getting all the channels after a scan, it's just that none of them show a picture except free-to-view channels? If yes...carry on...

Go here and download this keys folder.

FTP to your box and delete the /var/keys folder.

FTP over the new keys folder that you downloaded.

Go to sky sports 1.

Go to MENU > SHUTDOWN > reboot now

When it reboots, it will auto update the keys. Flick to sky sports 2, wait 10 secs then flick back to sky sports 1...leave it there until it comes on.

Try that...let us know how you get on.

dreambox flashing "

thanks for getting back to me , and for all your help in the past , im useing a null cable to flash the image, and not ftp way , i am getting all channels after scan , but their not showing , im useing broadband here but its not wireless , its pluged into the back of the pc , thats why im useing a null cable to flash, , when i go to do automatic transponder scann, the box comes up , the first one in the box is ( ntl cable ie) next one is (ntl ireland bruteforce) and the last one is , (ntl mmds) i allways pick the first one to scann, is the the right one to scann?, after i do the scann and ok "it .. it tells me that their are no transponders found , no tv channels found , and no new data found . but when i go back to the tv it displays the channells from a-z. when i click on them it says no data for this channel. and the firmware date is still showing as it was v2.0 31/10/2007, thanks again ,, ranger

I too have the same problem tried many images like gemini, nabilo and now ds image. DS image is the best so far but all the images crash and restart automatically can some one help me on this. I am using a Dreambox 500s

If all images crash and reboot then I'd say you have a hardware problem and the box is faulty.

ok ranger your using dreamup to flash yes?do you have dw 1.6.5?if so flash that to your box ,also check if new tuner is ticked rathere than old tuner ,the reason am saying use dw 1.6.5 cause i had a load of problems with 2.0 try it and see wot are area you in?is it ntl or vw?

were abouts are u r*****s() ive got a saved DW2 image u can have channels are all sorted A/U to, not had a problem with it working fine since the last big hit .i`m in pure ntl area glasgow area.

Drmbox(oops sorry nightmare box) & ftp

Hi guys
I am trying to sort out this NIGHTMAREbox from one week
'ftp' never started and cnt do with Null cable either due to faulty serial adapter.
but now i m thinking about to go with ftp way with no joy so far.
using dcc2.6 but always errors like "login failed" or "chek drm bxip"!!!
hope it ll work out.

you cant use dcc or ftp via a null modem cable m8, you need to get your self a cross over rj45 cable m8 and use that, plug it into your ethenet port on pc and other end dreambox then ftp away.....sadly you're pi$$ing in the wind trying it without a crossover m8

If you have router than you could connect your dream to your router using a straight through cable and than ftp files to your dreambox.

Also, by specification all Gigabit ethernet adapters must be MDI/MDI-X auto switching capable so you don't need a crossover with them. Do you have a machine with a Gigabit capable network card?
