Hi i have a dreambox 500c with dk v1.1 just one question. in the back it asks for ant in is this the tv aerial or the virgin media cable ?

im new to this forum and so very grateful to find it...
dm500c owned by my mother (bless her) like all.... n3 hit an gradually down it went! As im a total tight ass and a tekkie wannabe i decided to look a little deeper. Now id never heard of dm500 before sept2010 so i hope dumb questions are welcome =) .i know my brother set it up when it arrived 4 years (give or take) ago & he is a total plug & play/slap dash kinda guy. There were a lot of channels unavailable from the beginning etc...

Id like to know .... is there a wrong way to set it up? im slowly learning but anything in earth level english would be of great help!

Just wanna learn - i know bout N3 an no available fix. If anyone knows of a good easy to follow tutorial other than the above could you pls point me in that direction.

im new to forums in general ive been researching about dreamboxes for some time. i have a friend that has a dm 500c and is receiving all channels and are living in harrow which i was aware that is a N3 area. i know there not using C/S i live in hounslow is there anyway i can get all the channels aswell

Never had a brand new image so i couldnt say
i would suggest looking at the stickies and getting the latest image DK 1.1 i believe and install that and add the "magic" files to make it all come alive

Reading will be your biggest asset right now

not sure what i'm doing yet, but so far worked out i need dreamup, dk v1.1, flashfxp but you mention adding the "magic" files, can you give me a clue what they are and what i'll need. cheers

i have a sky dreambox 500s im not into all this gagdet stuff my channels are slwoly going off but i have been told i have to re scan them or something i have gone into setup but i have failed as i dont know the password please help?
