May not be tuner issue. Poor cable signal also can cause those channels unwatchable unless u have tried both boxes on the same cable point. I need to use a signal amplifier on my living room with fine tune to the frequency whereas I don't need it on my bedroom for my set box.Comment

Yes Master .. am trying to swap box to test before operation of the tuner.. many thanks for the advise.Comment

Thank you masters ypvs125 and jatrophaseed,May not be tuner issue. Poor cable signal also can cause those channels unwatchable unless u have tried both boxes on the same cable point. Indeed it is the tuner issue, and after applying Master Jatrophaseed Tuner patch, all is well now.
Thank you all so much.Comment

Hi Sifu Jseed
I've the exact same issue (all HD/SD channels OK quality 93%+ but ch 226,227,etc un-watchable 0%-70% quality BER 200-3000), and another Sifu point me to this thread.
Frankly I'm surprised, and am going to try your solutions this weekend, after removing splitter, cleaning contacts with no improvement.
I'd like to understand what causes this. Is this old age? My DM800se is only 2 yrs old, cannot be right? Or tuner is inherently weak at 135MHz? Cannot be cos Philips datasheet says it goes from 50MHz to 866MHz.. Why is 135MHz so special?Comment

Do a swap of tuner if u got more than one box... DM tuners are coil tuners and can't lock in the .5...Comment

Tuner spectrum is 'out tuned', very very hard to tune back without a sweep osc-scope and a frequency generator. Cheaper to change a tuner.Comment
