fatal error whilst scanning

i have a dm600 running pli iolite.
whilst scanning i get a fatal error box which says
couldnt open sevice file - create/etc/enigma
can anyone shed any light on this?
ive never needed to scan since i loaded this image as i have channels etc backed up. but today the signal levels in my area plummeted and i cant get half of my channels working. its not my connections as a few friends with a 600 500 and dbox have the same issue of losing channels.
the snr on fine channels are 93 and on the affected channels is 62 ish.
anyone else in manchester area exc+w having issues?

Sounds like the image has gone 'read-only'.

I'm sure a reflash will cure it.

Backup services and bouquets before flashing.

that must be the quickest reflash and channel restore ive ever done
