When I turn on my dream box I can get a black screen for up to 10 minutes, but other times it can clear in seconds. Am i doing something wrong?

could be a TV issue, maybe the input for the dreambox isnt kicking in right away ( are you using a scart lead ) .
also put onto a free channel then re start the box, see if a free channel clears straight away. ?

Yeah I am using a Scart lead, and its the same for all channels, whether they are FTA or not. Its a little odd? Also I can hear sound immediatelyComment

Have you tried hooking upto another tv via scart? also replace the scart lead with the video leads ( red,white,yellow) leads
that might do the trick.
also check all your settings for dreambox, it might be something stupid like its doing a scan or a hard drive check or trying to do an EPG scan or something on startupComment
