IR receiver broken :(

i am having the same problem and for the past 2 weeks have just been controlling the dreambox via the laptop.
incase yo dont know this, you can type in the ip address of the dreambox into your browser bar. ip will be
192.168.2.x
x being whatever number is given via your router. mine is 2 but changes on occasion.

I have the same problem at the moment with a new box I just got. I'm in talks with the supplier at the moment to get the board replaced. With mine it just about works if the remote is about 6in from the box, it is definately the infra red detector board as I have swapped it with one from my other box. If anyone knows which detector is used on the board I would be interested to find out as well.

Run your finger along the coper contact point make sure in contact, also could be just borad not alligned properly with front panel?

Well it looks like there plenty of us needing a replacement LED reciever !!!!

If I find out which one from RS catalouge works I will let you know. Even if I have to buy one of each!!!!
