What is - Ambrosa Website

It is pretty much all on this website. I've set up a cron to run it every night. Have a look and feel free to ask me if there is something you are not sure about, but look at it first as it'll take all night to write up what you need to do from start to finish!!!!!!

As I said, it is time consuming (not difficult) to set up your channel list configuration file.

I don't think a backup will include the files on my cf card (which is where e2_loadepg resides).

Things I did.

1. Made a swap file on my cf card. Don't know if I needed to but did it any way. Sicilian has posted how to do this.

2. Copied e2_loadepg from the website and put it on my cf card.

3. Edited my enigma2.sh file according to the instructions on the website (including adding the LD_PRELOAD bit before /usr/bin/enigma2)

4. Ran e2_loadepg.py within a telnet session.

5. Looked at all the errors regarding providers in the log file.

6. Edited my channel-list.conf file to match the channels with the providers (the time consuming bit)

7. Added a cron job to crontab to start e2_loadepg.py and then restart enigma. I do this overnight. I actually pointed the cron job at a small sh script I wrote. Don't know if I had to do that but did it anyway.

So, like I said, not a five minute job and I suspect the providers vary from region to region so you'll probably have to go through the pain I've been through!!!

if theres enough demand im sure we can have a play BUT what els is needed for u e2 users ? maybe little wish list is in order

There is a lot of yus dm800 cable users here and we're all helping eachother. I know there will be a lot more if DK group managed to fix the epg

Tell me what you need and I'll give it to you within minutes.
You need full backup..anything just ask and its there.
The only thing its missing is 7days epg working.

Oh yes there are plenty of us !!!...i just think a lot of them are not to concerned about the epg as they have had DM600 boxes and to be honest the recording on those was a bit flaky to say the least, these 800's are a different kettle and they would benefit greatly from a working EPG...if anyone can do it you can matey...and i go with bonesy at this time, i think all that is need at the moment is the working 7 day epg and timer record working with it.

Been having a go at this tonight. I feel as if I am getting somewhere but for some reason the egp.dat file gets deleted everytime my gui restarts. This leaves me with nothing after its gone through it all.

Any ideas?

i know this was an old thread i take it a proper fix was never made
