when i tried the frequency for sky1 (131.00) in manual transponder scan, the SNR came less than 70% and all the other channels are 90% + does this mean i have to purchase an amplifier to boost the signal?

It almost certainly means that is not the frequency for a transponder in your area. Or you have the wrong Symbol rate.

Where did you get it from, the Eurovox? How did you enter that code (131.00) in manual transponder scan on the dreambox? There are no fractional points. Just a five digit box. Did you try 00131 and 13100 ?

Try ticking the INV setting if not set. (Another bug in Enigma, this setting should always be displayed as set on UK cable!)

If the Eurovox works when connected to the same cable at the same point and definitely gives a picture it is more likely you are misreading the frequency & symbol rate on the Eurovox or entering it wrong on the dreambox.

sorry typo, i tried it on the dreambox both ways 13100 and 00131 and with the inv ticked, everytime i do it, the SNR is always below 70%. so should i buy a amplifier?

An amplifier is unlikely to do you any good if the Eurovox works fine on the same connection.

Did you use the same symbol rate as shown on the Eurovox?

Check the BER (Bit error rate) if it is very very high, and there is no SYNC or LOCK then there is nothing being broadcast on that frequency!

See? This shows in my region there is nothing broadcast on this frequency.

All I can think of is that there is a conversion which must be made when going from Eurovox frequency to Dreambox?

Ask questions about converting frequency displayed on Eurovox to a number you can use on a Dreambox manual scan.

I don't have a Eurovox and I've never seen the EPG showing the frequency & symbol rate so I cannot advise.

Perhaps you can export your channel listings / bouquets from Eurovox to a Dreambox using a utility which will do the conversion?

Start a new thread? Take some screenshots showing your Eurovox settings & Dreambox manual scan settings and pray someone knows what is going on?

I had trouble picking up on same box and image the fix is try making the signal level range at 91% for skyone other channel are 94% your getting too much high signal level have alook on Splitter keep trying it will work

                                hi mate,
did you get sly 1 in the end?
i got it by doing a bruteforce for uk scan and then birmingham 2.
i reckon do a full brute force scan then scan all the others close to you.
