DM800 clone setup help a veteran please

I just left this box and it seems to have sorted itself...i hate things that have no logic.

What do you mean it sorted itself? aare you able to view all the channels now or what? My own box is neahving exactly the same and I only got 2-3 HD channels in the scan of which none of them was viewable. So can you please explain what you mean by it sorting itself. Also I have downloaded the mgcamd from the plugin section but I still dont have 1.31 in the selections I have.

Exactly what i said, it sorted itself out, i have an image dump on that i found in a thread by bonesy and it has many cams in it in different combos, i went through them all and it made no difference, i just left it on common interface and went out to do something, when i came back the picture was on and it has not done it since...its most illogical jim

I have all the channels i had on my DM500C and a few HD, ie, bbcHD preview, c4 test HD, ESPN classic HD, still yet to get ITV HD...if you think you are going to get discovery HD channels and others on sky then forget it, virgin do not port them over.

I have managed to screw up my 800hd as well and i have flashed bonesy's backup dump, however the initial bootloader on my box was bootloader 75 and now i have been looking for this file , all the ones i found were extension .ipk files and when I tried to flash it with dreamup , it couldnt find the flash file and I couldnt do it via the web browser either. Can someone point me in the right direction on this.

Really ?...how did you pick that up ? does it actually have HD suffix ?..come to think of it there is no ITV HD either and is BBC HD actually broadcasting yet or am i right to just be getting preview ?...any others i might be missing ?

hi loady, can you help me please, i have screwed up box as well, i have no ca error because I had bootloader 75 originally but now i have flashed bonesy's image and its bootloader 72 i guess, how and where did you manage to get the 75 bootloader and how did you flash it? i manage to some onle but they have .ipk extension where can I get one with .nfi to flash via dreambox. Thanks

I never flashed bootloader 75, my box is supposedly #74...what i done was flashed bonesy image first then after when i get the ca error flash the #72 bootloader, this should get the image working, to be able to get to a point where you can start flashing turn on the power whilst holding down the power button or setup dreamup with a serial cable and ethernet to the box, check network box and then enter you pc's ip address and the boxes ip address (displayed when power button held down whilst powering on) that way it will flash quicker as it was taking 50 mins to flash an image with just the serial.

I think i got it off here by using the search button, if not i used google...the image should be in NFI format...and yes serial and ethernet connected...dreamup puts the box into serial mode which displays and sets the boxes ip address...all you need to do is enter you pc's ip address and check the network box and press connect/flash...flash the image first then the bottloader

Yep, always flash images first, then use dreamup to flash the bootloader afterwards.

You have most Certainly been very helpful, I was able to get another copy on the Sat Dreambox section of this forum. I have another question for you, My box is now up and running however i had to do a scan in my own area and now I have 2-3 listing of the same channel, your existing listing before the scan and the channels I found in my own scan. What I want to do now is delete all existing services and do a fresh scan. I havent been successful at all with this.
