Dreambox 500 Plus password problem

could anyone help me with it the password ... i have tried root and dreambox but no use ...

i am not to this .... i guess the enigma image is running in dreambox

...as you've said. What image are you using?

Are you sure the connection from the dreambox to your PC is ok?

Have you tried leaving the password blank (with userid = root)?

If the 500+ has got tuxbox commander installed on it, you could use that to edit the /var/etc/passwd file, and blank out the current root password. If not, then it is possible to alter the password by dumping a backup of the image and modifying it, but it's not easy. It's almost certainly better to just reflash with a known good image though.
