I found this info on the Pli web site - PLi? Images website.
It seems to be possible to watch HDTV on a computer using any dreambox - even a non-HDTV box. I can't test this myself as I don't seem to have any HD streams on my box, but interested to see if anybody gets it working.
Here is a real example off a DM500 on the Measat 3 C Band satellite (in Asia) of the Nat Geo HD channel.
Steps.
Open the vlc application on your computer
Open a network stream to "http://ipofyourdreambox:31344"
Click settings
Click on file and save the HDTV stream to your media drive i.e HDTV.avi
Click Dump raw input
Open Movieplayer as normal
Select the file name you saved HDTV.avi and press the OK button to watch it
Now sit back and watch HDTV on your DM500 - This works very very well on the DM7020, and it works on the DM500 as shown above, but mileage may vary.
TIP: Remember while you are doing this, the file you saved is eating up your hard disk space.
