newbie needing help to flash

hey bulldog i already been in the dowloads been trying to work this out lst few days
if i have joy with this flash where do i go for the keys lads fingers crossed

Dream up is simple m8. Connect a null modem from your pc to box, with the box switched off. Run dreamup when it finds the box it asks you to power it on.When you do this it then gives you the option to flash the box. Point to the image in the dropdown box and choose flash. Thats about it m8.

yeah thx mate i read the guide on that seems like it is i dont have the cable tho or port on laptop : ( just using a crossover.

Looks like you need to get one of those Maplins USB null modem cables. Sonner or later you are going to need a null modem cable.

ok guys 2 probs here if u can help me with

1/ i conected with flashfxp and filzilla but got error when tranfer of image file i chose to overwrite something wat folders are normal to have in tmp after transfer?

2/ telnet wont connect for me saying something not found?

I don't remember you mentioning you had a dm600 but maybe I missed it. Flashing the dm600 with telnet is completely different have look below;

Slightly different to other dreamboxes. You can either use the Dreamup software (takes ages) or use the method below instead.

1. Boot the box, goto the communication menu and note the ip address.

2. Run DCC, connect to the dreambox. Once the network is connected ok, click on the the 'Telnet' option.

3. In the telnet window, type the following, pressing <return> at the end of each line.

mount /boot -o remount,rw
rm /boot/*
reboot

4. You should now get a message saying that the Dreambox is rebooting.

5. Wait a few seconds and then run Explorer (Firefox or whatever) and enter the ip address of the Dreambox in the address bar.

6. On the screen that appears, choose the 'Upgrade firmware' option, find the .nfi file and click the 'Flash' button.

7. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, reboot the box

shit my dreambox is frooze after doing a factory reset to get rid of the error files i fxp it i cant get ino menu s or make it do anything is it broke?

Looks like you are going to need one of these to fix your box.

sucks ok just confirm i need to use dreamup now with that cable to fix my box?
in that post u sent me keys and roms r them images ok for dm600clone?

I always recommend dreamup and null modem cable as you can have problems with ftp and other cables.
