The Dreambox or any other reciever capable of Cardsharing should be your only consideration these days when buying a box.

Once the EMU's all die out, they'll still be able to cardshare, unlike all the other machines (Eurovox, Starview, Kryptview etc) which will be 240volt paper weights.

As said earlier, if you a DM500, or Openmedia 500cs you will still be able to share a legal sub which will come in a lot cheaper.

It will be possible with Cccam, as this is used to share N3 on the sat side, so there should be no reason why it wont work. Then you and a few other people can get together for a sub, and share it.

I think witchy is spot on -- these are great boxes to go for, but it looks like n3 is close to being implemented. How long is anyone's guess!

I'm in the same boat as you mate -- Sat dish not an easy option. 500c on C/S is certainly worth checking out....

If you like waiting 8 weeks to change channel that is.

How about buying a DVB-C tuner for your PC? Running on Media Portal, time-Shifting, Recording, 1 sec channel change + HD Channels.

            Yep, north facing :-(

?300 due to the fact theres no access and it would have to be a powerful arial as the signal in the area is not that strong which I can confirm just by looking at other aerials in the same road which are large and on poles.

I got nothing but snow trying 3 different portable aerials, all powered, directional, boosters etc.

VM is excellent on my 42" plasma, just musing about getting some extra channels unlocked.

I had the DM7000 around 5 years ago and that was excellent until things got difficult, had a house then as well.

It is Xmas, I may just treat myself, may get to see a UFC event or 40+ readers wives

I like the look of the blackbox 500c, any dissadvantage getting this over an official DM500?

As long as your window isnt north facing you should be able to get a dish in the window.

you sould really take Witchy21 advice.
Dreambox is diffinately the way to go. When cable goes n3, you can still do cable cardsharing.
              Setup: 2x Dreambox 800HD | 3x Dm500S on Motorised dish Setup
