DM500 ### Digital Kaos v1.1 - Updated Fast Scanning ###

Hi folks,

I gives me great pleasure to announce an update to the excellent Digital Kaos v1 image, funnily enough named v1.1.

The only update is the inclusion of FAST SCANNING. Just like you have with the dbox2 you can now scan all channels in under 2 minutes with your dreambox. I know this is possible with a manual scan but I don't think it's been done with an automatic scan or included in an image yet. So you'll get it here first with the Digital Kaos v1.1 image. I did plan to do a v2 image but I simply don't have the time at the moment.

Scan the channels in like you usually do...

Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Automatic Transponder Scan

Only this time you have options like the Set My Location plugin on the dbox2. Choose the option that is closest to your town/city and start scan. If none of the options suit you, the original settings (6887, 6952, Bruteforce & Irish) have been included. The options are listed alphabetically so it's easy to find your area.

For those already using the DK v1 image AND if you have your dreambox connected to the internet (via router or modem), you can update to the latest v1.1 image using your remote and you don't even need to turn on your PC.

Menu > Setup > Expert Setup > Software Update > Internet Update

Select 'Digital Kaos v1.1' from the list and follow the prompts.

Note: Your services and bouquets will NOT be affected, they will still be there after upgrading.

well i just took the uodate and went to glasgow ntl to scan comes back saying all known transponders have been tried but no lock was possible.??

Looks like I've incuded the first draft which had some errors in it...oops!

I have the updated version but won't be able to upload it until tomorrow.

There were only a few errors, unfortunately Glasgow NTL was one of them.

Nice image one thing, can i copy themes from another image,(digitalworlds) into this one. I quite like the simple blue theme that this image has

Works well for me too, great all what is needed now for the scan to detect box office and the adult etc rather tahn having to edit the services etc

I haven't checked this but Dublin N*L cable should be
netid=42753
freq=291000
rate=6887

This was incorrect on some dbox images, and I have seen it incorrect on several other websites where it was listed too. some had netid as 42755 and 2910000 (extra zero)

Does this image have the Ch**** symbol rate for scanning that area as well is the brute force also included for it
