    DreamFlash Version 2.3 (supported)
    DreamFlash Mountpoint=/var/mnt/usb (NOT MOUNTED!)
    DreamFlash Image=false
    DreamFlash Selected=Flashimage
    Telnet Disconnected
    FTP Disconnected

it connects then disconnects. the above is whats shown in telnet

i would love to know how to by-pass this but i have tried everything so far, if you cant think of anything then im just going to have to wait till my NMC arrives

oh and the box wont switch off, the green light is always on, and when you connect to tv all it does is goto the logo screen them restarts and keeps doing that

    (I LOVE THIS SITE)

OK I have found that 1 tv menu channel pickups up ok. pickups up ok regardless of having the Evocamd 2.12 plugin enabled. So there must be only one FTA channel and thats it..

Hi Birkenhead, do you mean mac address of my dreamboox dm-500c ? ukjimmy31 was the one having issues updating his box mine went fine. I just used a crossover cable and FLASHWIZARD_PRO_4.0 and cuteftp to upload the Evocamd plugin to the dreambox.

No what is the I.P. for the dreambox?

            Example 192.168.15.24

You find this on the dreambox, you can also edit to your network in setup menu-> expert setup -> communication setup.

And what do you mean. The dm500c is a freeview box mate.

It will pickup as long as you have a cable feed.

not sure why im being asked for my ip... anyway so i have scanned all transponders and can only see one channel (which is the saturn channel menu).. I was stupidly thinking that the channels my tv pickups up(analog (not digital)FTA ones unencrypted via telstra analog signal) would be available to view . im wrong i guess as they are all encrypted same as sky channels...

I guess my orginal question was misleading as the channels on telstra cable that my tv picks up are not really FTA channels, they are just unencrypted analog channels. So i now know that the DM500c doesnt do analog tuning, it only tunes the digital signal on the cable.

please correct me if i am wrong!

p.s I already have a freeview SAT box.

You will will need the cable file for your area my man.

This has to be ftp'd to your box in the var/etc and then you will be able to scan for frequencies.

                        i.e channels in your area.

ok, didnt know that, im from New Zealand, I did a scan and found all the channels ok using this image(### Digital Kaos v1 Dreambox Image for DM500 C/S/T ###) ( every channel encrypted) doing a manual scan putting in the correct Symbol Rate and just one Transponder Frequency.

Try finding someone close to you or search the net for cable file for your provider mate.
