    No luck mate
    Flash and Dcc wont or cant connect to my box and i really can't see anything wrong with settings for the connection.I am totally stumped.
    I do have a remote on the way,courtesy of The Reaper (what a star) but was hoping to be able to at least change the channels on the box using a laptop until it got here.
    TO make things even wierder i can ping my box with a return time of 0ms ???????

        can you not go into your router config and look at "attached devices?"

            My box has never been connected to my router mate as the router is in the spare bedroom and the box is in the front room,no way of getting the two connected as they are too far apart.

                would it not be worth 15 mins of your time to take your router to your dreambox?

                            Yup mate,that's the one i got.

                            SORTED !!!!!!!!
                            Mate realised the ip was miles out,changed it and all now works.I have full control using my laptop and DCC.
                            Many,many thanks to all who gave suggestions,hints etc etc.
                            Hope i can,maybe,help someone in the future.

                            UPDATE !!
                            I found my laptops "real" ip by googling "what is my ip" it gave me a very different result (82.28.237.200) to what i thought was my ip address (192.168.1.5). After altering the ip in my dreambox menu the web interface connected straight away.
                            Thanks to Aftermath for some lessons on the art of streming the tv to my laptop and using web x tv.
