DM800 PLi - Scanning for services

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I'm having trouble getting a successful scan on a DM800 running the latest PLi image.

Doesn't seem to use cables.xml, my searching on the forum hasn't thrown anything useful up and I'm stuck in how to complete a successful service scan.

Do I need to setup the "Tuner Configuration" (Scan Step Size etc...) ? I've added an additional SR to scan (6887 and 6952) but still no joy.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

tick network scan symbol rate will either be 6.887 or 6.952 depending on whether your ex ntl or not

if no joy tell me what it says before you scan

      In the "service Scan" page it says ;

      Tuner - Tuner A DVB-C
Type of Scan - Single Transponder
      Frequency - xxx
      Inversion - Auto
      Symb Rate - 06952
      Modulation - 64-QAM
      FEC - Auto
      Network Scan - Yes
      Clear Before Scan - No
      Only Free Scan - No

Frequency is first 3 digits of local "5-digit" frequency

      When press "OK" it says ;

      DVB-C QAM64 415000 / 6952 / AUTO

      Returns no services found.

If I change from "Single Transponder" to "complete scan" and hit start, it brings up a new screen

"Try to find used Transponders in cable network.. please wait"

Then steps up in 1000 kHz incrememnts, failing to find anything.

E.g. 395000 kHz FAILED then 396000 KhZ FAILED

              yes, same on 6887

              n*l

complete scan has started finding some transponders further down the range..... fingers crossed as it's now up to something and has a progress bar that's starting to move....

scan has completed with 121 services found including a number of "707 SID 0x06" and DL nodes

BBC ONE clearing but is very blocky so think the tuner is probably in better nick than the previous STB. I'll keep playing with the complete scan and turn the booster down :-)

Thanks for all your elp - thought I was going mad for a few minutes/hours...these boxes really suck you in.

just try m8 single transponder scan on 6.887

keep network scan ticked yes though

just start the scan at 323 see what happens

just tweaked the booster and kicked off a new scan.

As I can't seem to add a cables.xml to this image it looks like the scans are very broad. My only worry is that with 1000 kHz steps it'll miss a number of transponders.

I'll let you know the results...

No - scanning using "complete scan" which only has limited options.

Since tweaking the booster, it's now finding a lot more - 78% done and 270 services...including a node that's really low down the scale and I know can be tricky to receive.

Looks like the tuners are superb in these things.

sound like your getting there i think i get around 430 in total

its funny cos if i start my scan off at the beginning i get nowt but if i start from 323 i get everything on my network it misses nowt its quicker too dont ask me why but it has worked for a couple of others too

Certainly making headway - channels clearing and I'm sure I just need to fiddle with the booster.

It found ~360 and can see ITV4 and more4 aren't there. I know these are tricky so it may be a late(r) night trying to get hold of them !!

Thanks again for all your help.
