500c Problems

I know many people might have already started this thread.
But i just cannot find any way to help myself.

I bought a dm-500C yesterday, it keeps saying no data for this service available.
So out of curiosity i tried to restore factory~......there goes my dreambox.
Everything goes blank.

And now, i clicked on enigma reload, my screen keeps flashing. I am lost and do not know what i can do.

I have not flash this product before, so i do not know. I read on the internet, i'm using an ethernet cable, connecting it to the router, than from the router i connect another ethernet to the dreambox. Is that the correct settings?
Please help me!

The dm500c does not unlock the channels anymore. All you will see is FTA channels. And fewer than a normal freeview box at that.

Are you planning on using the dm500 for other things other than viewing TV?

I would just like to get back my s****** channels, it first came with 100+ channels, but after i factory resetted it, it became those FTa channels only. So how can i get back the channels?
Now i can't seem to do anything to it at all after i pressed on ENIGMA LOAD. the windows keep flashing. sighs.

Now, i've bought a rs232 cable to usb. Tried loading it up with dreamup, but it doesnt seem to detect my dreambox. It just keeps saying connection prepared, now switch on dreambox.

Best to use Dream-up & null-modem cable with old P.C. that has
serial port. USB-serial leads are problematic with Dream-up.
If your area is Nagra 3 you won't be able to view encrypted
channs.

im in the same boat, got 2 dm 500c's and can only watch channels 1-5, theres 100s more that even tell me whats on but will not show a picture or sound, it says im using Evocam 2.12 but im clueless!!!!

It sounds like your area has been hit by nagra 3-vermins new encryption,so there's no chance of getting your channels back.There is no fix for nagra 3.Have a good read up on it.

well i did have a virgin box flashed but that went off so i got some dboxs thinking that would solve the problem but i now no its the nagra 3, i wonder if you can convert the dbox c to work with satalite!!??

I don't know if you can convert the dbox for satellite but if you wanted to stop with cable,have a read up on the starview 7 or the kryptview a780

Yes.. You can do so but you need to get connected to dreamup first.

To backup the working box & use the backup image to flash the box.

In the first place, if your box can only sea FTA channel thats means your key are not up-to-date so even if you reflash sucessfully, you are only able to view FTA channels only.

The box does not unlock the channels in the UK anymore. Its more or less a freevbiew box now but with less FTA channels.
