Do you know the new ntl keys for the dreambox?

Is it the same keys for the whole of Scotland, or is it area sensitive?

It's area sensitive m8, the area's are:

Ex C&W
Pure NTL
Telewest
NTL Ireland
Chorus Ireland

Your area key will probably be ex-ntl keys and they have rolled again, they will be new keys posted sometime the day in this thread m8 so keep checking.

There are 2 encryption keys that are sent out, you need to make sure both are correct.

One will start...

N 5*01 00 **************** ;

and the other will start...

N 5*01 01 **************** ;

I'm sure there will be a permenant fix soon.

There are 2 keys used. The current key and the next to be used key. In the example above it shows key 01 as the new key. The 01 key will be the currently in use key. VM will be updating all their subscribed cards with a new 00 key ready for when then decide to swap over to it.

There just the key numbers, nothing else.

When they roll the keys they always do them alternatively. They have to leave the last key used active long enough to ensure all there subbed customers have taken the new roll.

So lets say we're on KEY 0, they will roll KEY 1 and leave it enough time for there customers to take the roll and then they'll switch over to the new key. This ensures that no Audio/Video decryption is interrupted which would make the customers screen go blank briefly otherwise.

Granted there is a fix for the eurovox, digivox, starview and kryptview but I suspect we should have a fix at the weekend. If not, I'll be disappointed.

just a quickie....who would be working on a fix for dreamboxes..???

i know the rest of the boxs have there own software writers and it would be bad business for them if a fix didnt come out for them....

but with dream multimedia staying away from software for the dreambox its left to the select few....but who.?? who are the real kings of linux on the dreambox.??
