We got it sorted, all working now!

All I done was put the c&w keys into a keylist.txt file and sent him that as well as my camd_cfg and it worked first time.

Possibly a corrupt file or stray windows character maybe...who knows.

It would be interesting to see his non working files.

I still think people forget to stop the came before updating the keylist. I have tried it and as the cam is stopped it appears to save the keys back to the file.

Scrub that, I have just tried it and it does not.

I deleted the keys in the keylist and stopped the cam. The list was still empty. I put the keys back in and restarted cam, it worked ok. Next I deleted the keys again and this time I restarted the cam. Again the key file was still empty.

I can't explain why I have had problems before when I did not stop the cam. Next key update I will do it without stopping the cam. I will change the keys and restart the cam and see what happens.

Neil strangly goes off waiting for a key roll

Hehehe...it's all good fun Neil! If they worked without problems what would be the point!

I've never stopped the emu, just changed the keys then restarted the emu, always been fine.

Is there a step by step guide on the forum from flashing a new image to getting the keys working?

The box will auto update what it thinks are the correct keys.

You need to disable the AU feature or set it to { 02 }...

You then need to edit the keylist.txt file with the correct keys.

Restart the emu and it should come on.

There's some good and bad news with regards to the new emu.

I've been told that it won't be as simple as adding the new files to existing images. There are new libs that need to be integrated into the image. The libs are stored in read-only sections of the image and you won't be able to add them. The image creator will need to add the new files to the source and re-compress the image to create a new .img file.

I'll update more if I have any new info.

Thats strange, I thought the emu's were stand alone bits of code that did there little job in the background. Are the new library files needed to allow the updated cams to function or too fix some other problem with the image itself?

looks like we will all be using digital world images then........

i love my pli helenite image....i think ill just keep entering the keys manualy then......

                            cant stand using other images......

another thing....i thought it was the emu that was at fault.?? that is seperate from the the actual image.....the image is like a central operating system and emu just works within the image....unless the emu requires certain things to be added to the emu in order to work......

Here's a guide for editing the read-only section of your image.

You will require a linux machine to do it though.

Enigma images are created in such a way that there is a read-only section of the image and read/write section. The /var folder and /tmp folder is the old folders in an image that you can edit. If, for any reason, you want to edit the read-only folders, i.e. /bin, /etc, /lib, /share, etc. this is what you'll need to do. First
