    Trouble with FTP

I've had the same kind of probs as Validus, can't ftp my box using either cross over ( pc to pc ) or direct via my router. Had to flash image via null modem using the tut from Aftermath ( worked a treat one of the best I've read), but I've still got to load the missing files. Can this be done using null modem cable? I've followed the advice given to Validus, when I test network now dbox is reachable (ping) but gateway and server isn't. Any ideas? 3 days and losing the plot!!

xp normally straight forward....are the settings ur changing on the dbox still there after a reboot?

the img hasn't gone read-only has it?

try a different port on the router

the changes u make would revert back to previous settings - they wouldn't save after a reboot

                    any firewall blocking?

u got to save by pressing start /restart network settings....that's usually enough but u can save settings as well

the changes u make are still there after reboot??

what router is it? there's no security settings there blocking......

check ur pc network connection to allow local sharing...

right click on ur network icon in taskbar......click on status and support tab - do they match the addys u posted

i use auto-negotiation but u can try changing the link speed/duplex mode to 10Mbps/Half Duplex in network settings
