    commando 10d help please?

Hello there, im certain that im missing something entirely stupid here but cant for the life of me figure it out.

Recently flashed over commando 10d on to a sagem 2x and its all up and running to a degree, however some channels are missing and some are not...
For instance i can recieve just about every movie channel, sky1 to 3, several other encrypted channels.

However discovery channels refuse to work, thinking it was possibly a key issue ive left it overnight on discovery hoping for an update, no joy there.

Move on to the usual "the end users an idiot" tech support mentality and rechecked everything ive ftp'd

    Code:
    /var/keys/
    AutoRoll.key
    autoupdate.key
    camd_cfg
    camd3.config
    constantcw
    ecmoverride
    keylist
    keylist.txt
    mappings
    mg_cfg
    nagra
    nagraepr7.bin
    nagraram7.bin
    nagrarom7.bin
    rsakeylist
    SoftCam.key
    strom.bin

    /var/bin/emu/
    evocamd
    mgcamd

And out of desperation updated /lib/ libcrypto.so.0.9.7

chmod 755 to cams and crypto
so now i get half of the encrypted channels but not all...
Anyone have any ideas where i may be going wrong?
im rapidly loosing hair on this end.

could be a signal strength issue mate, as far as i understand some of the lesser watched channels use less bandwidth and aren't as strong as sly spurts 1 for example. remove any splitters connect direct to the wall and check all connections. i remember once being baffled at something similar having ensured i'd transfered everything correctly, chomod etc realised my cable feed was hanging half out!!

          snr has to be over 55000 to clear a channel 63951 is v good....what area r u?

whats on the screen to prob channels - just blank or error message?

            telewest glasgow (dumbarton)

Screen is just blank, which lead me to believe that there was a cypher problem rather than signal issue, however there is the odd "squelch" for those old enough to remember 70s internet

channels that are shafted since update: channel [bar strength 1.0 =full .25 =quarter etc]

etc etc (checking through every one would have me here for hours)

Now the wierd thing is, channels i can get more often than not have worse signals than channels i cannot, the only difference in the signals is the BER rate which tends to average around 8 for channels i do recieve and flatline at 0 for channels i dont.

couple this with the fact that on 10c the only problem was the epg and nothing to do with channel reception and it has me completely stummped.

How exactly does the tuner work? is it hardware or is it software? anyone know? could the cams have an issue? for instance if i enable both evo (2.17) and mg (n/a) everythings fine, enable evo only and everythings good, enable mg only and im back to only fta only...

I should also note that im recieving a bitrate for every channel wether its blank or not averaging around 4000kbit/s (16:9 broadcasts) and 2000kbit/s (4:3)

whats ur snr on blank channel?

is this a new (scan) service file or did u transfer a working one over?

all feeds ok? check the antennae connection when showing snr on duff channel and gently move the fplug connector see if the snr increases

                random dead channel : DMAX
                Bit error:
                MAX 1
                AVE 0
                MIN 0

                SNR:
                MAX 64072
                AVE 63980
                MIN 63709

                SIG:
                MAX 255
                AVE 255
                MIN 255

                Bitrate:
                MAX 5482
                AVE 4101
                MIN 1131

As im typing this up and monitoring that channel its definately trying, i get the occasional squelched phrase (audio only)

                Random working channel : e4+1
                Bit Error:
                MAX 13
                AVE 6
                MIN 0

                SNR:
                MAX 64300
                AVE 64171
                MIN 64078

                SIG:
                MAX 241
                AVE 240
                MIN 239

                Bitrate:
                MAX 5341
                AVE 2135
                MIN 1610

Its brand new full scan, thats tv, radio and services

As for the feed, fplug on one end is perfect and ive just bolted an rf to the coax on the other instead of converting fplug to rf.
Ive even soldered the thing on to cut down on the attenuation profile and make sure the connection isnt going to arc. multimeter shows its rock solid.

Now if i reflash over to commando 10c and rescan then all the channels work flawlessly with the glitchy epg
                Im completely at a loss.

LOL seems commando 10d flashed with USE SPTS MODE defaulted to ON

This is what was causing the headache, turning it off via dbox settings/driver & boot settings resulted in everything deciding to wisen its act up and actualy work.

dear god a 14hr headache over a simple option toggle.

Its all working nicely now, so if anyone else has a problem, make sure that spts mode is OFF.

Thanks for attempting to help however MetMan, im much obliged.

if u transfer the service and bouquet files from the 10c onto the 10d - still get the problem.....

edit: i just flashed over 10d - i must have been lucky spts is off .....normally u only get a crackling sound when switching channel if u use ucode 001A with spts on

                    least its sorted....
