    ## C10d - SS4.1 Enigtrino2 ##

To celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Black Tuesday (when rom7 was subjected to a cowardly and vicious terrorist attack, with g*box and newcamd getting mortally wounded in collateral damage)- AL proudly presents:

    Enigtrino2 !! Commando 10d Laid Bare and SS-Enigma 4.1 Skinny - both in the same JFFS2 image!

The download rar contains the 2x Image (use Image Converter to convert it to 1x Flash w/o Bootloader format, if you're one of those sad Sagem 1x owners)- and also the 3 readme files for 'the story so far' - all in pdf format. These cover SS-Engima 4, all flavours of Commando 10, and my original Enigtrino release notes.

I've packaged it like this because some sites (like Digital Kaos and Techno-Source) only allow one attachment. It's FTA as released, so contains no emus, keys, nor roms. For testing, please don't wade in like a bull in a china shop and start adding your own stuff in. This file contains everything you might need (and no more!):

    Code:
     http://www.mercs.us/crypt/enigtrino2_+pack.rar
    New features

First thing you'll notice as the C10d BootInfo screen appears is LraiZer's new LCD Bootmenu! This gives you a choice of Commando 10 or SS-Enigma4 at boot up! More on this later, but for now- please allow C10 to boot, so we can look at some of the new Blue Button stuff...

Note item 2- my new 'fast-track' method of creating a Flash w/o Bootloader backup image. Also works in a Telnet session, if you just type backup (nb- always carry out a reboot before making a backup, as this clears the EPG cache).

New item on the Yellow button, so let's have a decko at that...

Look at the Green button! Yes- this is FreddyFrog's latest Tri-mode sectionsd having it's premiere!! For all you guys who struggled with the different types of epgfilter in the past- this new feature is what you've been looking for!! For the more experienced users, you can still choose a 'Selective' epg filter by pressing Yellow for this menu:

You'll also be pleased to know that the previous bug, which caused the cam to die in EPG Standard mode, now seems to have vanished.

Assuming you already have a decent set of neutrino services and bouquets, then use them to overwrite my 'pure' 5401 files. If you don't, then Set Your Location, allow the reboot- then do a Fast Scan. Then we can look at the final exciting innovation in Enigtrino2...

From the first System Menu, press Blue for 'Enigtrino Treats':

(nb: the G*box item is not in the release image, but comes with a Support pack in the +pack file mentioned earlier).

The new Red button is a demonstration of UkCvs Image Feedback in action! Someone suggested this as a useful idea- so cydine kindly (and brilliantly) scripted it. So I've left the Enigma services and bouquets totally blank this time around, to give you the chance to try this out. Which is why I said to stay in Commando mode, LOL! Once your stuff has been copied to Enigma, this menu item becomes de-activated.

*** An interesting discovery was made during dev & testing this feature: cydine's end took under 2 mins to complete, but my end was taking 20 mins plus. Dicovered the culprit- I was using a compressed busybox file, he wasn't. I found that once I'd switched to the usual full-size busybox file, his script now only took 1 min 6 secs to run on my dbox! Not only that, but boot time, shell menus and messagebox pop-ups were now seriously much faster, too! You clock the difference! ***

You'll also notice the familiar Reboot to SS-Enigma v4 Mode - selecting this will then make SS-Enigma the default boot Image.

Using the LCD Bootmenu: The current default is highlighted; to change it, use the Up or Down arrow and wait the 5 seconds for it to time out. If you press OK before the time-out, it might 'hang' on the bootinfo screen, or it might not...

1.9mb Free Space 'out of the tin' - which will drop to around 1.74mb after you've added the educational stuff for test purposes. Enjoy!!

Mega thanks again to Renny and SatSearching; the rest of you who've helped are all in lights in the Hall of Fame and Roll of Honour, LOL!!

    Cheers- AL

You may have read this elsewhere but just incase you havent.

Wow....what more can you do, each time I think you have all pushed it to the max you seem to come out with even more on the image.

For what its worth heres my feedback.

    C10

Are running spot on with Mgcamd and 0014

Quality excellent as usual, fast channel surfing

EPG...overly helpful, its now idiot proof, so that suits me. Using the 7 day channels up to 100.

    Nice set up.

Converting services and bouquets to Enigma. It took approx 1 1/2 minutes.

    SS4

Nice set up, like the theme.

All services and bouquets converted spot on......that will be extremely helpful to anyone, a push of a button and it converts them...thats great.

Quality of FTA was spot on.

I can't comment on other channels because Evocamd and myself are not on speaking terms and never have been, I curse at it but it doesnt respond and won't even make eye contact with me. Its strange and only happens on this dbox, I have a dreambox and Evocamd works on that but not this dbox. I am not really worried as I like Neutrino images.

I cant really say much else except Thanks to you and all involved, I know its a team effort. An excellent and informative thread and should help many people out the way it is explained.

    Cheers.

Well i dugg out the 2x test box .....

last flash was ss enigma 4

enigtrino2 flashed perfect no hitches . when neutrino first boots up and you do a scan it does the job nicley, after setting things up and looking at my perfect neutrino setup out of the box : ) you start to look about the epg is gr8 the way the channels are set out is perfect. it really feels great to use.

then you blue button and select treats mmmmmmm

my pet hate for enigma is its a real hassle to get a decent channel list like neutrino . but now you press the copy button in the menu it takes 1 maybe 3 minutes then it deufalts to sellect to reboot with enigma
i was worried about doing this at first as i didnt want to loss the perfect neutrino setup. but i had to press it in the end .
now i have enigma with a perfect setup and channel list .

perfection is the word for this image its very user frendly in either interface.

thanks for the hard work all involved

@Jaffa- Eh? I don't understand, m8. All the kit is already there (for test and educational purposes only) on the external dead link in the notes. Just use the specially compressed mg and the usual evo /var/keys stuff in that +pack file. Symlinks for mg support in the image (dead as released) will then spring to life for testing with mg.

Then you can delete them all after testing by pressing the right button in the blue menu (cough, splutter)

        Cheers- AL

PS- Ahhh- I see what you're saying now, Jaffa...

In Enigtrino- whatever uCode you select is operational for both platforms. But - with softcams, it's possible to make mgcamd (for example) default for Neutrino- as you have, while Enigma is still booting on evocamd. Which your box doesn't like. Simple!

Reboot to Enigma. Now give the blue button a looooong press. (A quick press brings up the shell System menu, a long press brings up another treasure chest entirely). Select mg in there, and, voil?!!

Try it... Also read the original Enigtrino release notes pdf for more help on familiarising yourself with Enigtrino2!

        Cheers- AL

I used everyting in the pack AL...(well except gbox). I never used any of my saved stuff.

I just can't see where to change to mgcam in SS Enigma, blue button only offers Ucodes. But knowing me I am doing something wrong. I didnt have much time to try things as work beckoned.

Edit: Just seen the other bit of your post, will do that when I get home.

Yes sorry I am guilty of not reading the pdf....I did read it the 1st time round but didnt this time cos you said it was original release notes. I hadnt installed Adobe since formatting and was pressed for time earlier. I should have remembered the long press on blue button.

          Cheers for your help.

It's a learning (and revision) course for all of us m8- and far more interesting than actually watching the drivel served up on telly, LOL!

Doesn't make me feel any less the fool for asking silly questions that have been answered it the original release notes.

              I will try again later.

OK- once you have Enigma running sweet on mg- make sure you delete evo (if you added it), as this will just be excess baggage in your case.

Also, try out the alternative Wise Skin and see what you think of that. dbox > 6 > 3 > 3 > Blue

                Cheers- AL

The green vertical stripes on non-fta is usual after a new flash, m8. It's the aVia drivers sorting themselves out. If I see this, I usually flick to Beeb1, then press 0 to go back to where I was, and if it's still stripey, I just keep hitting the Up button till it finds a channel that's clear. Then they're all clear after that- and stay that way. (Never need to reboot)

Until the next reflash- which in my case, can sometimes be 6 times a day or more, LOL! Cheers- AL

The two platforms are totally independant of one another, emu wise. So I bet you're using mg in neutrino? But enigma is expecting evo, by default...

In enigma mode- give the blue button a long press for a second or two. There's your Softcam menu! (and other goodies). Just select mg instead of the evo that's showing, and- voil?! All sorted!

                        Cheers- AL

Flashed this image tonight - got to say it's a triumph! Like many I stayed away from Enigma purely cos Neutrino is (was?) the norm I suppose. Wish I tried an Enigma image sooner!

One small issue I have is that the LCD information in Neutrino doesn't change between programs. I have to either press the info button or switch channels and back again for the LCD to display the correct program - seem to remember reading about this problem but can't for the life of me find it now! (This happened with me using the stand alone Commando 10d as well.....)

Not sure if it happens on Enigma too - the missus came home and needed her Corrie fix......!!

Any ideas on a fix please peeps?

Just had another play - got EPG problems with the Enigma side of things now....

The time is one hour behind but the EPG is correct. When I go into the Time Settings and use the Time Correction option the EPG ends up being an hour ahead. The only option in Timezone Configuration is GMT - is there a BST fix for this??

                            Thanks again for any help.

Yep- I did an update patch to fix the enigma Time problem, but with D-K being down for the length of time it was, it got missed out from being posted here.

Just pop this little fella into the /etc folder (not /var/etc) and reboot. System and Transponder Times will now be synchronized correctly.

                              Cheers- AL
