cant connect to dbox2 via ethernet

make sure in the dbox network settings that dhcp is not ticked and connect to network is enabled

What cable you using? Re you going direct to the box or thru a router?

going direct via a cross over cable

try full duplex thats what i use,no antivirus on/firewall etc...have you a desktop comp as well make sure there are no conflicts there eg:turn router of modem etcc..m

make sure dbox DHCP is OFF
i think this is found under network settings

after you changed the settings on the dbox and saved them, did you restart the network? or reboot to activate the new settings?

so i did as instructed. turned off dchp, corrected the ip add and correct subnet mask.

then i saved the settings. i then used another lead, which was also a cross over cable.

AND HURRAY! it worked superbly guys!
