Never tried another image, but have worked a lot with commando 11. Try the Commando 11 the end image. Go to a blank screen and press the blue button twice, select your location and save. Next press dbox button, services, scan for services. Have your setting set at :
Save settings now
Scan for services (tv/radio/all)
Bouquet (update/erase all// make new vm set/leav current)
Cable provider (CableUK/DVB-C Ireland/DVB-T Ireland)
Scan Mode (Fast Scan/UK Brutforce)
Network ID
Frequency
Symbol rate (6952/6887)
Auto scan (off/on)
Start scan
Remember to click save before you start the scan. The network id and frequency should be allocated automatically. The symbol rate may be automatically selected, otherwise just try both. Once complete you should get FTA channels.
If this doesnt work then you may want to check to see that the cable works. I had a lot of trouble because VM didnt connect up a cable correctly at a connection point in my house. So test it if this fails.Comment

Thanks for the advice, though I actually get the FTA channels. The TV box in the front room works, and the broadband in this room works, not to mention the FTA channels are perfect.
Tried the scan again on your advice just now in any case, but no difference afterwards!Last edited by tattiemasher; 8 August, 2009, 20:16.Comment

I think fate has just made things worse...power went out for a second while the box was flashing another image...box won't even try to boot now! I don't have a null modem cable just now, am I buggered until I do?Comment

This thread could get global recognition, it's going on longer than the
Iraq war. I can see the headlines; BATTLE OF D-BOX.
When the Yanks saw no end to Japanese war they NUKED 'em.
We need a similiar approach here to keep the body-bag count down.
Use Hallenberg IFA to flash (COMM 11) image
FTP files to correct folders & make sure they are correct.
Make sure you have up to date KEYS
Commando will give scan for your area, it won't find any chls. thats OK
because it will have your Prov.ID & SYM.rate on service scan. Go to
Service & start search (quick-scan)
I will check back at 12.30 You have to nail this TODAY
Just take your time, You WILL get there

I am starting the process, but so far nothing much is happening on IFA...waiting for dbox start after 5 minutes. DBOX is on, but the front display is just garbled letters/numbers, and nothing else.Comment
