          err i think u would know, its a device connected to ur modem for connecting other computers or devices to the internet, a hub, usually with the capabilities to connect wired or wirelessly

              well then it's a cross-over network cable connected direct from ur pc network card to ur dbox....know ur pc ipaddress...if not go into command prompt and type ipconfig after the prompt

                Got that infor mate. Would I still need internet access if I had crossover cable connected????

                  no, connect xover cable just alter ur network settings1 below or above of ur pc address and use your pc address as the gateway address
