Guide:How to FTP the fix into the Dbox for noobs

hiya i have followed every instructions you have mentioned but it doesnt work. when i used the cute ftp, i get this message saying, "Can't read from control socket. Socket error 10054". and when i used the flash fxp it says "connection failed. no route"

Ive been wresting with this for a couple of hours.

Is the DHCP to be off or on??

The OP say DHCP should be off, but when you open the attached doc it says ensure DHCP is Enabled.

I keep getting, timed out when i try to FTP into the box using FlashFXP, really doing my nut it big time.


Or am i missing something dead simple.

You need to turn DCHP off. If you keep getting timed out then make sure the ips are set up right,

turn off DHCP and set your own ip addy...

Turn dhcp OFF. Manually assign an ip to both your box and pc network card.
IE box 192.168.1.5
pc 192.168.1.4

It will be! But just follow advice mentioned. Check ips before FTP sometimes the box resets it's ip when your going through the motions.check connections of Ethernet ,disable anti virus:firewall
Don't give up it is better to just start again

Its a fresh XP install, nothing on the computer except the dbox stuff, windows firewall is off.

Have you tried ftp wirelessly ? I prefer to do it this way.
